Internal Medicine

So many different things can make pets sick these days and unfortunately our patients cannot tell us what’s wrong. We have to use tools like a thorough history (questioning), performing a good physical exam and using tools like blood work, urine analysis, fecal analysis, x-rays, ultrasound, or other tests to search for the answer.  Some cases can certainly prove to be quite challenging but in addition to having three excellent veterinarians at our hospital to discuss puzzling cases with, we also have close colleagues working in specialty referral hospitals all over Ontario with whom we can discuss your pet’s case and receive recommendations and/or advice.  Sometimes your pet may require more intensive care/monitoring or treatments that we cannot provide in our hospital. In cases like these, we would refer your pet’s care to these above colleagues to make sure your pet gets the best care possible, which will maximize the chance of successful treatment and recovery.

If your pet is not feeling well, do not wait but call us and schedule an appointment. Not sure if you need to see a veterinarian?  Use our Pet Health Checker and Pet Health Library to verify your pet’s symptoms. Please note that the Pet Health Checker is very observer dependent and is not meant to replace actual veterinary advice.
